Let's talk about injunctions

An Order by the Court preventing someone from doing a certain thing or in some cases, obligating someone to do something

Injunctions can fall broadly into two categories; permanent injunctions (which normally are issued after a case has been heard and a permanent injunction is viewed as an appropriate remedy) and interim injunctions (sometimes referred to as pre-trial or pre-action injunctions). The interim injunction umbrella then covers other types of temporary injunction.

Yes, all panel lawyers are regulated by the Irish Legal Services Regulatory Authority. Solicitors are also regulated by the Law Society of Ireland, and Barristers are regulated by either or both the Bar of Ireland and the Honorable Society of Kings Inns.

Can I choose between a solicitor and a barrister?

+
-

Yes, depending on your legal needs, we can connect you with either a solicitor for general legal advice or a barrister for specialised representation.

Do I need a solicitor or barrister or both?

+
-

It depends. For contentious matters (i.e. those going to, or likely to go to a court or tribunal) you typically need both. For less serious cases you may just need a solicitor, but we are happy to advise you on this. For non-contentious matters (i.e any other matter other than the above) you will likely just need a solicitor or barrister.

How much does it cost?

FirstCall does not charge any client a fee for this service. Platform maintenance and service fees are paid by the solicitors and barristers on our panel. In terms of legal fees payable by clients to panel members, this is negotiated separately between the lawyers and clients. For some legal matters, panel members may offer “no-foal no-fee” or “no-win no-fee” cost structures, but this is a matter for you and panel lawyer to agree.

Is FirstCall a Law Firm?

No, FirstCall is a legal technology and legal process outsourcing company. Panel lawyers are either sole-practitioners or members of law firms.
